For HSE Students the Confucius Institute Made an Exception
This September three students from the HSE Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs will go to Jilin University in China for a one-year internship.
‘This is the Best Language School in France’
In July and August a new Summer School will take place in the French city of Tours, organized by the Institut de Touraine and the HSE Center for cooperation with France and French-speaking countries. HSE students, teachers and staff members all have the opportunity to take part. Irina Maltseva, Director of the Center, told us about the new project.
Public Policy: Double Degrees from the HSE and the University of Bologna
In early June Italian professors Cristian Vaccari and Lucio Picci gave a series of open lectures at the Higher School of Economics. Their visit is another step towards the implementation of the agreement on cooperation between the HSE and the University of Bologna signed in 2009.
Thailand’s Government Officials are Ready to Study at the HSE
On June 22nd a delegation from the Secretariat of the Senate of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Thailand visited the HSE International College of Economics and Finance.

From May 31st to June 1st a joint Russian-Chinese conference on ‘Transition and Economic Development in China and Russia:Past and Future'took place at the HSE. The event was organized by the Faculty of Economics. On the Chinese side, leading economists from two large universities, Wuhan and Hong Kong, took part in the conference. Vladimir Avtonomov, Dean of the HSE Faculty of Economics, told us about the event and cooperation with the colleagues from China.
Poland: the Return to Europe
On June 8th and 9th the HSE Faculty of Law welcomed Michal Sewerynski, professor at the Institute of Lodz, Poland.

On May 24th –26th the Samuel P. Huntington Memorial Symposium on Culture, Cultural Change and Economic Development took place at the HSE. It was organized by the Cultural Change Institute (the Fletcher School, Tufts University, USA) and the Higher School of Economics. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev met with the Symposium participants.
