Linguatest is a multi-level test that assesses candidates’ level of proficiency in a foreign language, from elementary to advanced. Now, the results of the test are accepted when transferring elective subjects in English, as well as for internal and independent examinations in bachelor's degrees. The changes also affect admission to HSE master's and doctoral programmes: Linguatest is included in the list of certificates in a foreign language that can be presented when applying for master's and doctoral programmes starting from 2023.

The diverse HSE University community includes people from different countries and continents who can share their cultural experiences and generate novel ideas with their never-ending creativity and love for art. The Master's programme 'Arts and Culture Management' welcomed several students from Nigeria last year. The Faculty of Geography and Geoinformation Technology opened at HSE University in 2019, enrolment in the first bachelor’s programme took place in 2020, and the first master’s programme was launched in 2022. Nikolay Kurichev, Dean of the Faculty, describes how the idea to train geographers within the walls of HSE University originated, what results have been achieved, and what difficulties have been encountered over the years.

A few days ago, Retail Night was held as part of informal meetings between master’s students of the HSE Graduate School of Business and business representatives. In the next academic year, HSE University-St Petersburg will open a new master's programme in Data Analytics for Business and Economics. Graduate students from HSE University’s Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod campuses have created Prezentos—an online shop featuring unique gifts. The students spoke to the HSE News Service about how their master’s programme at HSE University brings its students together and inspires them to create their own commercial projects.

On March 16, the results of the Open Doors International Olympiad for master’s and doctoral applicants were announced. The competition is organised by the Association of Global Universities with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia and the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo). HSE University is one of the Olympiad’s organisers and the site of its distributed project office.
